And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

DATE DAY UPDATE!

If you saw my post about the Home and Garden Show that is this weekend...
Bo and I talked about it, and we did decide to go ahead and go. We have not had a DATE since BEFORE Thanksgiving! We usually pick 1 day a month (and usually wind up running errands!)
So today we went (YES we used our $1.00 off coupons to get in) It REALLY was not what we were expecting. There was home interior, SECURITY systems (we have a WHITE LAB named REMINGTON, and A SHOTGUN named REMINGTON....if one doesn't work as security....trust me the other will.) Also at the Home and Garden Show....JEWLERY...
Now what does JEWLERY have to do with HOME AND GARDEN!!??? The only PLANT vendor was Green Thumb Nursery! NO SOUTHERN HOMES AND GARDENS!! We were also wanting to find out about some products to help weather proof our house......ONLY one display for NEW CONSTRUCTION foam product!!! What about homeowners that want to UPDATE what they have?

ANYWAY.....We enjoyed just being out doing something GROWN UP!
THEN we did go to O'Charley's I HAD those coupons you know!
I also had a coupon for a FREE APPITIZER....THE LOADED POTATO SKINS ARE TO DIE FOR!!!
We stayed with the 2 for 14.99 entrees
ALL TOTAL FOR OUR MEAL.....WITH TAX.....$21.44 it would have been lower, but Bo would not go for ordering water and asking for extra lemons!! I was going to make LEMONADE (IF you go to HIP2Save you will see how...it does work...)
We also "POPPED" in PUBLIX ofcourse..
Mustard, Hot sauce, and Worcheshire
At first my TOTAL was 17.49!!!
Then after coupons with tax $4.52
We talked about if this should count toward Jan or FEB totals....It is still Jan...so...we are still good for $40.00 for Feb.
It made a fun day!
See everyone tomorrow at CHURCH!
Happy Saving

Fantastic Frugal Feb.!

I am trying to make this sound like it is a GREAT thing! I keep reminding myself that "What seems like TRYING MOMENTS, are really BLESSINGS if we chose how we approach them!"
Bo noticed our front porch LEANING, we don't know if it is due to all the rain (Sinking) or the fact that it is......15 years old! (We had it on our old trailer, and reused it on our new one, it was "FUN" to move!)
Anyway, we talked about it, and we have a GREAT stockpile of food in the pantry and freezers( I can't fit ANOTHER thing in any of the freezers!)
So we are really doing a TRUE PANTRY CHALLENGE. We are taking the majority of our food budget for Feb. and putting toward the porch, also the money I made at this last coupon class(THANK YA'LL). We have done this before, to use up stockpile and pay for something we NEEDED. The Lord has ALWAYS worked it out, that these moments come when we have a TON of food! Luckily we have never had an emergency when the pantry is empty!
We are alotting......$40.00.....FOR THE MONTH!
Yes, it can be done, we have done it before. This will cover the cost of dairy and produce. That's $10 a week, very possible!
For those of you who GASPED when I told you we spend $50.00 a week for 5 people,
I wished I could see your face right now!

We are truly blessed that God gives us these chances to see how "CREATIVE" we can be!
Becca and I are going to ORGANIZE the pantry and freezers today and make up a menu so we KNOW what we are doing for the next month.
I am looking at this as a GREAT chance to CLEAN OUT and ORGANIZE, two things that need to be done.
I am posting this to show you how stocking up is a WONDERFUL thing, and that once you get your stockpile going, you could pick a month to CLEAN OUT and live on your stockpile, use your grocery budget to either payoff something, or take care of a need. My Grandma(she died at 100 years old!) always taught us:
"Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or DO WITHOUT" and we have learned to live by that!
So I will keep you posted how this goes! I will still be getting "CHEAP" or "FREE" deals also! Pray that we are able to meet this "Opportunity"

How to Minimize Your Printing Cost!

O.k., when I posted earlier about copy paper, it made me think some of you might not know the cheapest route to print your coupons.
YOU CAN NOT PHOTOCOPY COUPONS!!!
When you print one out, see if it prints at the top or bottom of the page, flip over where you can print another one on the back (MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN THE PRINTER WHERE IT WILL NOT MESS UP THE FIRST ONE!!!)
Or if it just prints the coupon at the top, no ad, flip it face up, where it will print at the "bottom" now what goes in first. (BOY there is no way to "explain" this easy, I usually SHOW people.)
Also on ink, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PRINT IN COLOR!!! Set your printer to DRAFT and BLACK only! Find out if Walgreens will REFILL your cartridge (there in the photo center) They usually run a special BLACK REFILL, around $10.00. I used to do this, then we got a new printer, NOT ONE THAT WALGREENS DOES! So now I buy the refill kit, the syringe kind and refill it myself, WEAR DISPOSABLE GLOVES, I found out the hard way and looked like a BANK ROBBER (the dye bags) for about a week!
The refill kit last us about 3 months (AND I PRINT.......ALOT, with coupons and schoolwork...)
If you have any questions, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! That's why I am here!

French's Mustard and Franks Red Hot sauce

If you found your French's mustard and Franks Hot sauce coupons in this past Sundays SS, and you go to
http://www.frenchs.com/promotions/index.php

and
http://www.cattlemensbbqsauce.com/

click on coupons

At Publix the coupons double so $1.00 off!
Frank's hot sauce original 5 oz. is $1.09 so .09 cents after coupon
French's Original Mustard 8 oz. is $1.39 so .39 cents after coupon
French's Spicy Brown Mustard 12 oz is $1.29 so .29 cents after coupon
(this went great with the Johnsonville Brats deal from last week!)
So keep this in mind when you shop, I have already gotten 2 each and have enough coupons to get 2 spicy mustard's,4 hot sauce, and 3 regular mustard.... I am going to price check the Worcestershire sauce also, there is a .50 coupon on it....

Update on Wed. Shopping Trip Walgreens and CVS info and Publix totals

O.K., for those of you who are going to Walgreens for the jello deal, here is some ADVICE,
YOU can only get 4 at a time, and have them scan your MANUFACTURE COUPON FIRST!!!! The cashier told me the register would not let me use the coupons and the store coupon,( "THE REGISTER" wouldn't let me). I told her, scan the manufacture coupon first and then the Walgreens coupon (see my other post about where these are located). She did it my way, it worked. I bought 4 total after tax $1.07!
I put my other 4 up there and did it again!
So for $2.14 I got 8 boxes of JELLO
The cashier made the comment as I was leaving, "I will have to remember you know what your doing", so that comment made me think, HOW MANY TIMES HAVE THEY BEEN TELLING CUSTOMERS YOU CAN'T USE COUPONS, THE REGISTER WON'T LET YOU,,,,,,AND PEOPLE BELIEVE IT........
SO REMEMBER MANUFACTURE COUPONS FIRST!

At CVS, I got my 3 bundles of Ivory Soap (3 bars in each)
used my $1.00 off coupons
FINAL TOTAL .........25CENTS
The little man that checked me out is probably still trying to figure this one out!!!!
The NEW CVS in Prattville is OPEN!!!! It is located right across from Winn Dixie.

I had a good trip at Publix, NO THEY DID NOT GIVE ME THE SENIOR DISCOUNT! THAT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE!!! I have colored my hair now, so it's a trade off, look older than I am, and save money, or look my age......Since the discount only happened once....I decided to look my age!

FINAL TOTALS FOR ALL
RETAIL $267.41
OOP $65.71 (and I am sending off for a $10.00 rebate, SOOOO really $55.71!)
Here lately I have been over our $50.00 a week budget, I have to work on getting that back down!

HAPPY SAVING

Home and Garden Show this weekend

If you have heard about the Home and Garden Show this weekend at the Convention Center Downtown, TICKETS are $6.50!! Ya'll know how I am, there has to be a CHEAPER WAY!
Well, for those of you who want to go, HERE IT IS
http://www.showtechnology.com/shows/Montgomery/Montgomery.html

CLICK on the $1.00 off coupon! I know a $1.00 doesn't seem like much, but Bo and I are going, so that's $2.00, and ya'll know what I can do with $2.00!!
Usually my suppers are around $2.00 for the whole meal!!
We are going to make a "DATE DAY" out of it, He is REALLY looking forward to this, ANYTHING GARDEN related, of course I have tried to tell him I think this is for FLOWERS and SHRUBS, you know PRETTY THINGS, but he wants to see if there is anything on VEGETABLES!
We have a RULE, if we can't eat it, WE DON'T GROW IT!
I did have some flower boxes on the porch....and a few marigolds around my maple tree.....but right now everything is so dead and dreary looking. SO maybe seeing some SPRING ideas will be fun!
We are also debating about grabbing a bite to eat somewhere, I hava an O'Charlie's coupon (from the paper, for $5.00 off, and I signed up through their website for their "club" and we got a free appetizer coupon!) So we are talking about going there. It would be a BIG TREAT, usually we wind up at McDonald's for the $2.99 combo, or somewhere like that!

SOME DRUG STORE DEALS

WALGREENS
If you went by Winn Dixie and got the Kraft Food and Family booklet I posted about yesterday.
There is a .55 off 2 boxes of Jello coupon inside. Walgreens has these on sale .50 a box, will make it .22 a box!(with ad coupon, grab one in the store) you only need ONE Walgreens coupon no matter how many you buy, if I buy 4 boxes, I will use 2 Kraft Food and Family coupons and 1 Walgreens coupon (it will take off for all 4) I hope this makes sense, Walgreens can get TRICKY, you might need a "FILLER" item, the number of products you buy have to EQUAL the number of coupons you use!Example:
I am going to buy 8 boxes jello .50 box Walgreens coupon price ($4.00)
I am using 4 Kraft Food and Family coupons at .55 off 2 (-$2.20)
FINAL PRICE (1.80)for 8 boxes of jello

I will NOT need a "filler" item my coupon total will be 5 so I am good!

CVS
3pk. bars of Ivory soap are on sale for .99 there was a $1.00 P&G coupon that came out the end of Dec. that is for DOVE ,ZEST, OR IVORY will make for FREE SOAP!!!!

REMEMBER THE DRUG STORE DEALS END SAT. JAN 30Th

Publix Antibiotic Program FREE

For those of you who have not heard, Publix has 14 day supply of antibiotics for FREE.
There are certain ones on the list, BUT I printed my list off, if we have to go to the Dr. I have it with me and we get one off the list. They even put a copy of it in our file, if I call and just want one called in, they KNOW to get it off that list! It does not matter if you have insurance or not, we do, but with co-pays and deductibles WOW!!!
Here is a link for the info and you can print the list off from here:
http://www.publix.com/wellness/pharmacy/Home.do

I keep a copy in my coupon binder, just in case. Publix will also call the Dr.s office if the one they DO call in is not on the list if you ask. Our Dr. the first time called in amoxicillin (it is on the list) but he called in a SUPER STRONG MG., not included. Publix called had the MG. changed and it was FREE. It was a lower mg. but it worked just as well, in fact the Pharmacist told us the stronger mg. would cause BIG TIME stomach problems, so it was even better!
Hope this helps, I know right now with the deductibles resetting on insurance it is really hard, especially for something that is "NOT PLANNED" like sickness. Bo is on blood pressure and cholesterol meds. the beginning of the year used to KILL our budget, because the deductible reset, ONE prescription for ONE month is $98.00!!!! We now budget so much each month to go toward this, once our deductible is met, it will go down to $8.00, but heaven forbid if someone needed antibiotics too!! So this has been a life saver for us.

http://www.fairhopefoodie.com/2010/01/publix-sneak-peek-127-and-menu.html

This is a GREAT SITE I found that gives ideas and recipes that go with this weeks coming sale!
She is from Fairhope (not the FRUGAL FAIRHOPE site some of ya'll know about)

How are all of you NEW ones doing??? I hear some of you are having some trouble trying to "figure" it out.
Call me I will be more than HAPPY to talk to you! If you don't already know it I LOVE TO TALK!!! In fact (see hear I go!) When I worked at the Montgomery Water Works, I answered the switchboard and directed people where to go,my 7th grade Enlish teacher came in to pay her bill, I recognized her but didn't recognized her you know? She looked at me and BUSTED OUT LAUGHING, she said "I knew you would get a job talking!!""" It thing clicked to me who she was!! EVERY report card she wrote a note in the comment section, I was doing great, great grades I just needed to be quite so the others could get it!

Publix New Ad

For those of you who are new, Publix sales run Wed. thru Tues.!
So if you have gone to the Southern Saver site, do your shopping TODAY!! that sale ends TODAY!!! watch your dates at the top of the list!
You will be able to see the new ad late tonight or in the morning.
Here is a sneak peak though on something you need to be on the lookout for:

There is a Kraft Food and Family Booklet right when you go into Winn Dixie in Southlawn! (I am excited, because they had started charging a subscription fee for these!) Inside there is a .55cent off coupon on 1 Kraft BBQ sauce: They are going BOGO this coming week at Publix!! SO, 1.54 Reg. price (.77 sale) minus the .55 coupon= .22 a bottle!!! Time to stock up, I know it's cold now, but Sunny Warm Days are coming, PLEASE let it get sunny and warm! So ladies go by Winn Dixie get you a coupon book, and get ready to save! There are over $4.00 worth of coupons inside and they don't expire unitl 12/31/2010!!!! So hang on to them until that product goes on sale! Please don't take more than your family should, usually 2-4 is PLENTY

Also for you who are new, For the Publix BOGO you DON"T HAVE TO BUY 2, each one rings up 1/2 price! So if you have coupons to get 3, get 3, if you only have 1 coupon you can get 1 at that price! Now at Winn Dixie you DO have to buy 2, that is why Publix is so much better with your coupons, that and WD we talked about how they raise their price on sale items.

If Publix is out of a sale item EVEN a BOGO, GET A RAINCHECK!! They will give you a raincheck on BOGO items!!

Hope this helps
Stacey

Ok I have noticed alot of sites doing pantry challenges! I am trying this myself, only buying things that are really cheap or free and trying to use down my stockpile some!
My oldest nephew EX. MARINE, he missed Christmas, he is home now!!! So my Mom called me yesterday and said him and his girlfriend, my sister and her husband and my other nephew are coming over for supper Mon. night (tonight) Could I "whip" up something? Since my Dad passed away it is just her, so she does not cook anymore, she usually eats supper at our house. So that's a total of 11 for supper!
No problem, I still had some whole chickens in my freezer from Publix when they were .69lb. I took out 2 and here is the recipe I am going to use, if you have time one Sat. or Sun it is REALLY worth the cooking time read note. I am also going to do baked beans (from pantry), potato salad and macaroni salad (my Mom is going to pick up from the deli) and cake.
Here are my totals I figured up just to show you how this truly "pays" off!
Chicken .69lb ($2.41/$2.89)
Baked Beans .84
Potato salad/macaroni salad (my Mom's contribution to the meal!)
Cake Mix FREE
frosting FREE
So I am feeding 11 people for $6.14 total!
I think that is pretty good, and at a "MOMENTS" notice I just pulled from my pantry and freezer, I am not having to go to the store for anything~

Roast Sticky Chicken
REALLY TASTE LIKE DELI rotisserie chicken!!! Put rub on the night before, stick in frig will take 5 hours to cook the next day BUT OHHH SO WORTH IT, the flavor gets all the way through, and it is really moist NOT DRY AT ALL very very delicious!
Prep Time:
10 MinCook Time:
5 Hrs Ready In:
9 Hrs 10 Min

Original Recipe Yield 2 whole (4 pound) chickens
Ingredients
4 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoons paprika 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon dried thyme 1 teaspoon white pepper 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 2 onions, quartered 2 (4 pound) whole chickens
Directions
In a small bowl, mix together salt, paprika, onion powder, thyme, white pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Remove and discard giblets from chicken. Rinse chicken cavity, and pat dry with paper towel. Rub each chicken inside and out with spice mixture. Place 1 onion into the cavity of each chicken. Place chickens in a resealable bag or double wrap with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight, or at least 4 to 6 hours.
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
Place chickens in a roasting pan. Bake uncovered for 5 hours, to a minimum internal temperature of 180 degrees F (85 degrees C). Let the chickens stand for 10 minutes before carving.

Coupon Inserts!

There are supposed to be 2 inserts this week, 1SS and 1 RP
PLEASE be sure to check your papers ( I keep saying this so maybe I will take my own advice!)
Last week we got our papers from the Citgo on 80 I told the girl I wanted to check them 1st for the coupons (there were supposed to be 2 inserts) She told me, "OHHHH there are 2 in there, I'm looking through mine now"
well I'm like ok pay for the papers without checking
Get home and only a P&G NO Smart Source! In either paper!
Soooo, please take it from me, check BOTH papers! I have checked 1 before all coupons there assumed the other paper was fine only to discover NO inserts!! So always check both, again I am mainly stressing this so maybe I will take my own advice!
Here is the "PREVIEW", for what it is worth, REMEMBER this is a regional list WE MIGHT NOT GET everyone listed! I bought 4 papers one time looking for that Electrosol $2.50 coupon (WE DID NOT GET THAT ONE!)Just make sure inserts are in there, I don't know how kindly the cashier would take it if I really flipped thru the inserts to check to see whats in them! That would be great though!! Maybe buy one go to the car, check to see what coupons are in them, and then go buy more??? I'm thinking in my head and we all know how dangerous that can be (or you should know, Bo said I should come with my own WARNING LABEL !)

Olay Rebate Update

Ok if you saw the Olay Reginerest Deal on the blog posted yesterday, here is what I found in Greenville at Walmart:
They had several for $15.00 and up! Who would pay that for makeup, I would hope for that price I would NEVER look OLD!
But there was some on CLEARANCE! Some of the mosturizing lotions were marked down to $7.00 and the cleaning cloths were $6.98
So buy ANY 2 use your $3.00 off coupons (2)
and then submit for your rebate!
$7
$7
---
$14
-$6 (2 $3 coupons)
----
$8 due w/o tax
$15 rebate
------
$7 Money Maker

So you might want to be on the look out for the Clearance ones (marked with red tags!)

Also Rite aid has them BOGO 50% off (I don't know their regular price though, usually higher than Walmart, but if you are in the market for this, you might want to check~)

PUBLIX PRATTVILLE

Ok so there has been a manager change at the Prattville Publix (It's ok!! Don't panic)
Carmen talked to him and I asked her to post here about what she has found out
Carmen: "I met with the new manager at the Prattville Publix. His name is Ron and was very friendly. He told me that he will be meeting with his cashiers on Saturday to discuss the new coupon policy (as well as customer service) .He will be honoring CVS, Target, Winn Dixie, and Walgreens coupons. I'm sure he will take Dollar General as well. He was very willing to answer any questions that I had and assured me that he is here for the customers. Please stop by and say hello and let him know that you are a "couponer" and you appreciate him working with us. He made it clear that he wants our business. :)" she also said if he knows what we are wanting to buy LARGE quantities let him know and he would order more, Carmen told him just know we are wanting the BOGO items mainly! So maybe they will be well stocked from now on
So that's it for the update! This sounds like GOOD NEWS and he is really very friendly!
THANKS CARMEN!!
Stacey

Ok Wednesday update!

I am going to try to make 1 post for each day to update ya'll on anything new or to look out for! I am hoping it will be easier for me to keep up with and do, and easier for you to keep updated with! Like I said before "This is all way new to me!". I also wanted to clear up, I am in NO WAY trying to replace Southern Savers, you will still need to go there for LIST and coupon match ups. I am doing this on the things I find along the way that are out there that I think yall might be interested in and I think it's fun.

I have posted a comment under the Soft Scrub coupons I got these Wed. read there to find out what to look for.

If you use Olay Reginerest here is something you might be interested in
http://hip2save.com/2010/01/walmart-olay-regenerist-moneymaking-deal.html

If you have never seen http://hip2save.com/ she is FANTASTIC! scroll down and she has a video blog segment "Follow me Monday" everything from CVS to how to have a Frugal but Fun Date Night! Check her out!

Also be on the look out at Publix in Pratt. for the Kimberly Clark Unilever The Little Book of Big Buys, I got mine at the service desk, Carmen found a display around the BIG CHIP Display at the front, just go around it and they are in a freestanding cardboard post thingy (does that even make sense??? It is 3:34 in the morning please bear with me)
http://www.iheartpublix.com/?p=6524
This has a picture of what it looks like and a list of the coupons inside!

Ok last few things, sorry I did not post at all yesterday, I went to Publix early so I could get back and post how the milk coupons worked, (I bought 2 whole gallons white milk and 1/2 gallon chocolate, used 1 FREE gallon coupon, and then used my free 1/2 gallon chocolate coupon also, I figured I would hold on to my other coupons to do the deal again next week, also I didn't know if they would take all 3 free coupons. I think I made the right choice I got 2 gallons white and a half gallon of chocolate for 3.29! and I still have a set of coupons left to do it again). All in all retail it would have been $221.65 I spent 76.64.
It was more than I normally spend, but we got milk and PRODUCE (I was out of EVERYTHING)
and there wasn't really that many coupons that I could find on alot of the stuff.
Anyway by the time I got home, did school work with Becca (she went with me yesterday, Carol Beth stayed home with Brian) then laundry, housework(trust me the computer was calling me, I wanted to be online, but the bathroom shower was SCREAMING to be cleaned), then with the weather Let's just say LIFE took over! We didn't even make it to church last night, Carol Beth gets REALLY UPSET when it is bad weather(even if it isn't really bad, it can cloud up and she starts to panic, heaven forbid if it thunders! she has been that way since Hurrican Ivan years ago)
Now that I have bored yall to tears! I will go and hopefully find some things today for ya'll We have to go to the BIG town of Greenville today, dentist. I am going to swing by Walmart and see if they have the new ALL YOU, and check on the Olay deal!
Oh for those that might be interested 4H meeting TONIGHT Thur. the 21st 6:30 Hayneville Baptist Church

YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS!

Guess who just called me???
No it was not someone telling me I just won free laundry service for a year (I can keep dreaming though!!)
It was Keith (the Head District Manager over the Alabama Publix Stores) He is in Florida.
If you had heard me talking about the awful time I had in the Dalradia store then you know what I am talking about. I emailed the corporate office to let them know I was not happy with the way I was treated there, BUT to also PRAISE the Prattville store, and yes to ask about coupon booklets!
Anyway, Keith called me just then to apolozie for the way I was treated in the Montgomey store, he told me he had talked to them and let them know to really work on their customer relations (TRUST ME THEY NEED TO, It was AWFUL, not just me trying to use coupons, the cashiers attitude, and then the manager asking the girl BAGGING my groceires if they took a certain coupon!) He also told me he had let the Prattville manager read my email and they were VERY PROUD that I had taken the time to commend them. The manager is absolutly fabulous there! If you get a chance take a moment to either email or next time you are in the Prattville store, tell them THANK YOU for such great customer service and just a FANTASTIC shopping experience! It only takes a few seconds to tell someone Thanks, and can really brighten their day and also brighten yours!
Just wanted to share that with yall It just amazed me that someone from the main corporate office would call little ole me!
